What is FM?
FM is an inflammation of the fibrous or connective tissue of the body. Fibrositis, fibromyalgia and fibromyositis are names given to a set of symptoms believed to be caused by the same general problem. People suffering with FM are most likely to have three primary symptoms: Muscle and joint pain, stiffness and fatigue, but of course every person is different.
What is Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain is continuous, long term pain of more than 12 weeks or pain after trauma or surgery which lasts longer than the usual healing process. It is believed that chronic pain affects nearly eight million people in the UK - more than one in ten of the population. It cost our economy more than £12 billion a year in disability and care costs.
The most common types of chronic pain are headaches, back pain and arthritis pain. Other common types include neck pain, whiplash pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, neuropathy and neuralgia pain. Unfortunately in many cases, the underlying cause of pain in unknown for some people.
"I have been very impressed with the results of the LP. I have seen the lives of some of my patients transformed by this self empowering technique. Everyone who has battled with chronic illness and wants to win should have the opportunity to do the Lightning Process"
"In March 2009 I was in a very dark place of despair and immense pain. I was taking two different types of strong pain killers and yet I could feel pain in every part of my body. I was exhausted and sore every moment of the day." Read Lynda's story here
"It was less than a year ago I was reading from this very testimonial page myself, thinking "yeah, yeah. I bet they are exaggerating the benefits of this thing, or I bet it won't work for me" and now, here I am writing one and knowing they weren't exaggerating at all!" Read Helen's full story here.
